The famous architectural complex is locatedin the Kulob city. It is the Mausoleum of Mir Said Ali Hamadoni(1314-1384), the great Tajik-Persian poet, philosopher, and scientist. The tomb is located in Ismoil Somoni square. The whole complex consists of eight rooms, six-two side doors, twelve tombs of various sizes, and four prayers room with exit do together with exit doors leading upward consisting of seven doors and eight dome shape roofing. This mausoleum is decorated with a golden dome and meticulous brickwork and surrounded by a beautiful flower garden. The mausoleum was built by disciples of Mir Said Hamadani. Initially, two rooms each sized 4.9 to 4.9 and two domes were built. Behind the gate of Mir Said Ali Hamadoni tomb, there is    an empty room with a window (to the direction of Mecca), and people call it masjid (mosque). This room is used for collective prayer since 1954, when Soviets destroyed the mosque of the community near the grave of Mir Said Ali Hamadoni.

The dimension and size of this mausoleum are about 23.85 to 21.5 meters. The mausoleum consists of domed rooms connected by a corridor. It has entrances from the west, north and east. The main entrance is located on the west side with a small entrance. The mausoleum was built in the late 14th century in the traditional style of pre-Islamic temples(four-story). Even its bricks are made by double and triple method, which is a typical feature of the architecture of the IX - X centuries. The heads of
the doors of the mausoleum have a long rectangular shape. Their foreheads are not very deep. The
building has a domed roof and sits on top of an eight-story double quadrangular column.
The floors were built in the style of vertical cutting, and the bricks are laid in the form of a folding porch, and the top is plastered. The upper part of the porch is covered with a half-baked chessboard in the style of a chessboard (house-to-house). Various buildingswere built aroundthe centre and the mausoleum was repeatedly repairedin different periods.It appears that the mausoleum was preserved well for centuries. It was not even destroyed in the Soviet period when the building of many cultural and historical sites was turned into story houses for kolkhozes (collective farms), or their materials were used forth construction of schools and other public buildings. The first room is a mausoleum/cemetery for scholar.
The second room is a place for contemplation and prayer. Three more rooms on the east side of the site were built afterwards. Another room was built on the southeast side of the building as a mausoleum for Sayid Muhammad, the son of Mir Sayid Hamadoni.
There are six small tombs besides Sayid Muhammad’s grave. A different opinion exists about these
six-small tombs. Some stories assign these tombs to the children of Sayid Muhammad.
It is narrated that at the beginning pilgrims used to enter the mausoleum of famous saint Mir Sayid Hamadoni from the east side. Now there is an entrance to the monument from the avenue and square of Ismaili Somoni.
There are two opposite rooms where Oftobi Tobon (Hamadoni’s son in law) and Mohi Khuroson (Hamadoni’s daughter) are buried. There is a room beside OftobiTobon’s grave, which is empty and is used for contemplation and conducting pilgrimage rituals. Besides Mohi Khuroson’s grave room there is a small room with two tombs.
